The Complete Story of the last show featuring Damon.
Damon Ladd-Thomas and Mark Bove will be moving this month, after tax season to a new address. The new address is:
305 Cooper Road
Loganville, GA 30052
Do not worry what the Post Office thinks this address is still actually in the City Limits of Grayson, though we love Loganville too.
Don’t miss our grand opening and ribbon cutting scheduled for May 5th, 2011. Yes that is Cinco de Mayo and the celebration will be themed as such. We cannot wait to see you there.

Yesterday Charlotte Nash was sworn in as the new Commissioner Chairman for Gwinnett County to the largest crowd this Gwinnetian had ever seen at a local swearing in ceremony. The ceremony took place at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center at 4PM in the afternoon. Busy, ‘Rainy Day and Monday’ excuses did not deter the attendance. It was surprising how many witnesses packed the auditorium to its maximum capacity given less than 5% of the voting population participated in this historic special election.
Charlotte stood strong as she took her oath and was rewarded with a standing ovation by the nervously hopeful crowd. Many community leaders, former and current commissioners, as well as other local politicians including Congressman Rob Woodall were in attendance.
She carefully articulated that she feels a great debt for those that helped her and supported her. She said with conviction, “I am carrying the burden of trust, all of the volunteers and supporters put into me”, as she carries on to recapture this office’s damaged trust and integrity.
Charlotte gave thanks to many of those that made her election possible but focussed on giving thanks to three standouts as follows.
1. Her husband Joe ‘Michael’ Nash of thirty-nine years this August, Dacula High School Sweethearts, to which she emotionally gave thanks for all of his support and his most definite sacrifices of Charlotte’s time he has and will graciously share with the residents of Gwinnett.
2. The entire workforce of the Gwinnett County Employees that “make it happen on a daily basis.’ She pledged to each of them to always do what is best for Gwinnettt County.
3. The entire population of Gwinnett to which she said with loud and confident southern emphasis: “I am ready to go to work for Y’ALL!”

Team Bold Spicy is hopeful that Charlotte keep the strength to make tough decisions and never lose her stubbornness while dealing with some swampy political mire in the county. We wish her all the best and expect only great things moving forward.
On the lighter side, two most important questions that have come from this election are:
1. Charlotte likes to be called ‘Charlotte’ over Mrs. Nash, but is her title “Chairman”, “Chairwoman”, or “Chairperson”?
2. Is Gwinnettian pronounced (Gwah-nee-shun) or (Gwah-nett-ee-an)?
We have asked the Candidates for Gwinnett County Chairman for any last words to the voters before this Tuesday’s historic election. Here are the candidates’ gracious statements. Team Bold Spicy wants to thank all the candidates for their service, passion, and exhausting efforts in taking time to reach out to all of the readers and citizens in Gwinnett. We wish you all, the best! These statements are in order of receipt and their original answers from February’s article can be found immediately after their closing statements on this very page.
To all voters in Gwinnett I will ask you all to please go out and vote this March 15th if you have not all ready done so. Please vote for someone and the ideas that they have presented. I am seeking this position so that I can help bring more opportunities for you to take part in self governance. If you like the idea of a County Government that will maintain a sold infrastructure and provide some key services needed for a safe and healthy County I can assure you I will make that happen. If you are looking for a County Government that will micromanage you life you can vote for one of the other candidates. If you are looking for the opportunity to make the most out your own community within Gwinnett I will assist you with taking on that responsibility. If you want the County Government to do it for you I am sorry I am not the kind of person who seeks to be anyones master. If you want honest and fair government I will have an open door for all to see and all will be treated with respect. I WILL NOT take cash donations from companies or individuals who seek to or are doing business with the county, other elected officials are ok with this I am not. It is your responsibility as a voter to find out who is funding who for it is not appropriate for me, as a candidate, to publish any negative information about other candidates no matter how disturbing I may personal find it to be (or look to be knowing that often it is not the “bad” stuff published rather the stuff that looks bad). I have gotten to know the other candidates in this race and on a personal level I find them ALL to be good people even though I may question some of their judgment on a few choices they have made. I am not a perfect individuals and if you seek that in anyone I can assure you that you will always be disappointed. As a husband, a farther and a individual I will do what I feel is in the best interest of the people of Gwinnett. I will not be your master but I will expect you to take on your individual responsibility as a citizen of Gwinnett. I will be your servant but I will not let you request the power of government to abuse another.
If you agree with what I have to offer you and you are ready for that responsibility I ask you to Vote for Will Costa. If you disagree then I ask you to think of what you really expect from government and what you are willing to give up for that government there are 3 other candidates and you can also stay home.
I appreciate the chance to share my message with Gwinnett voters one more time. As I have said consistently throughout the campaign, I am running for Commission Chairman because Gwinnett is my home, and I care deeply about its future. I have lived here all my life and spent much of my career helping to build a great community that has a bright future in spite of the challenges it faces.
County government is at a critical point now, though, where experienced leadership is desperately needed to step into the vacant Chairman’s position and guide the County through a series of major issues and tough decisions. I believe that I can provide the steady strength that is needed to work with the District Commissioners and the other County officials in tackling the challenges which are waiting for the new Chairman.
Please take a hard look at my background and credentials. Weigh these against those of the other candidates and think carefully about who is best prepared to serve as Commission Chairman. Then be sure to vote on March 15th.
To Will Costa and Duane Kissel, it has been a pleasure to be on the campaign trail with both of you. You have treated me with courtesy and civility—I hope that you feel that I have done the same for you.
To all the wonderful folks who have volunteered with my campaign, I am more grateful than I can describe. I treasure the friendships that have developed as we worked on the campaign together.
Finally I appreciate so much the response of the Gwinnett citizens as I have met and talked with them over the last three months. I have listened to their hopes for our County, as well as their dissatisfaction with its current state. With their help, I am confident that we can make Gwinnett County great again.
In closing, I ask for your vote on March 15th.

Will Costa, Larry Gause, Duane Kissel, and Charlotte Nash.
Team Bold Spicy offered all of the remaining four candidates a choice to submit a previously prepared press-release, a chance to answer readers’ questions, or a combination of both. The following is what was prepared by the candidates. This is unedited, unabridged, and without judgement or bias. It is not for a real, balanced media outlet editor to endorse a candidate or skew public opinion. We feel it is our job to introduce you to the candidates and let you connect with them to decide who fits your personal criterion and needs. Being the exclusive media outlet for the Georgia Commerce Club, Bold Spicy News has an obligation to inform the business community about the candidates. This election may be one of the most important elections in Gwinnett History.
The next Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Gwinnett County will be cleaning up years of impropriety, poor judgement, ethical infringements, and a diminishing budgetary tax-base. We need strong, pro-business, ethical leadership now. This off-date special election is prime for very low voter turnout, when voter involvement may be more important than ever.
All of the candidates are approachable, friendly, and concerned about Gwinnett County. We will inform all of the candidates if you use the comment/chat function to ask additional questions or need more clarity. Be respectful and on point or your comments will be deleted. Connect with all of them, vote early, and vote often.
Here is the list of candidates again, ORDERED, in which the answers were received.
1. Gerald Duane Kissel is a Snellville resident and retired Assistant Police Chief of Gwinnett.
2. William Costa is a Lilburn resident and a Libertarian Local Business Owner.
3. Charlotte Nash is a Dacula resident, Republican and the former Gwinnett County Administrator.
4. Larry Gause is a Tucker resident and a Retired Naval Officer

After starting my business in 1997, I knew I needed to expand my networking skills. While it’s true that making vital professional connections had been important in my previous occupation–twenty-three years as a fund raiser–starting my own company required building a new network. Soon I started studying the most widely known network gurus. I read Harvey Mackay’s classic, Dig Your Well Before You’re Thirsty. Not long afterward, I read Bob Burg’sEndless Referrals. Although I met Harvey and Bob, and established an ongoing friendship with Bob, until today I had not interviewed a networking authority in “The Communication Corner”, my weekly hour-long interview program for WBCX, 89.1 FM, “The Voice of Brenau.” Fortunately, this morning I hosted Damon Ladd-Thomas, an amazing networker.
Based in Grayson, Georgia, not far from my office in Gainesville, Georgia, Damon and I had met through the Internet, and through his primary Web sites I learned about his ability to attract, engage, and create bonds with prominent achievers. Check those two sites:
What’s most amazing: Damon’s so-called “day job” identifies him as an Investment Advisor. While you listen to our interview, Damon will amaze you with his networking prowess. He accomplishes more with his avocation than many leaders do in their real jobs.
You will become a far more productive networker when you listen to Damon’s advice about:
*The relationship between networking and exceptional success
*How he incorporated the work/balance life style advocated by Timothy Ferriss in his book, The 4 Hour Work Week
*The power of a contact management system
*The most personal “touch base” tactics that keep us in touch with clients, colleagues, and prospects
*Creative, memorable ways to acknowledge promotions and birthdays
*What Seth Godin means about associating with “tribes”
*Why your support group should be neither too negative nor too complimentary
*Why “you-centered” networking prevails over “I-centered” flaunting of your own credentials

Georgia Commerce Club Grows to 1,000 Members in 10 Months
Thursday September 30, 2010 – 12:22 PM EDT
The Georgia Commerce Club, an interactive/commerce club, has rapidly grown to over 1,000 online members in just ten short months. Its dynamic design and content has enabled Georgia residents to network and grow their business simultaneously.
Grayson, GEORGIA – The Georgia Commerce Club has garnered over 1,000 registered online members since its inception about ten months ago. It offers complete community involvement and integration by combining social media and business networking.
Damon Ladd-Thomas, an Investment Advisor Representative with NEXT Financial Group, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC, and his wife Tatyana labored to create a free chamber/commerce club in Georgia that supports small businesses by letting registered users interact and form mutually beneficial partnerships. Their efforts have bore fruit as the Georgia Commerce Club has amassed over 1,000 online members, 1500 Facebook fans and 1,600 Twitter followers @GACommerceClub. The highly active website, for all things commerce, has almost 40 weekly events on the community calendar for users to attend and interact with one another.
The “new kid” on the block, at its current pace, is outperforming other more established chamber and business groups in Georgia. “It’s hard to believe this all began with nothing, zero support from any government establishment, zero dollars for advertising, marketing and even salaries. All we started with was our vision combined with the good-will businesses and volunteers wanting to build a better community,” said Damon. “We founded this website on the free “Peachseed” membership and it is our gift to the business community. I urge all business owners to take advantage of it.”
According to www.georgiacommerceclub.org, free membership boasts a multitude of benefits such as a profile, unlimited commercial listings, a group page, community calendar, live chat, business locator and a job/resume board among other things.
Damon Ladd-Thomas Wealth Management is a financial services firm focused on retirement for businesses and their owners. Damon, a 17-year veteran in the industry, specializes in business savings, tax strategy, succession, liquidation, and risk management. Damon and his wife Taty’s vision of a real, small-business support chamber/commerce club in Georgia is finally a reality. This local Wealth Management Team has founded the most dynamic community web site to keep Georgia working and doing business locally.
The mission was to create a real, small business cooperative that blends social media and business networking with complete community involvement and integration. This online membership, interactive periodical for all things commerce has amassed over 1600 Twitter followers @GACommerceClub, almost 1500 Facebook Fans, 1000 active members, and almost 40 weekly events on the GCC Community Calendar. If this Club had been around for the last 5 years or more, earning the “number one” brand in Georgia Business Networking would be impressive enough given the incredibly popular and strong chambers and business groups already present. What may be more amazing is that this “new kid” has done this in less than ten months opening its doors officially on January 4th of this year. What may be even more amazing is that it was accomplished with $0 government, municipal, or membership funding. $0 for marketing, advertising, or salaries. Also without a paid staff, downtown address, or powerful superstar spokesperson.
This was just accomplished with one couple’s vision and a bunch of good karma business people/volunteers wanting to build a better community; most notably the Ladd-Thomases. Damon and Taty built this free business community founded on the free “PeachSeed” Membership to help Georgia Grow Business. This is their gift to the business community and they welcome you to take advantage today at www.georgiacommerceclub.org .
Chambers, Clubs, Business Associations, Municipalities, Religious Groups, and Civic Organizations looking for partnership and support (One of the most important tenets of the GCC) feel free to call or e-mail the founders anytime.
